Sapper’s Bridge

This was one of the greatest engineering achievements of Polish corps during WWII. Front line moving towards west stopped at Vistula River east bank in August 1944 because there was no available crossing. 894 meters long temporary wooden bridge (near Skurcza village) was built by eleven sapper’s battalions in 58 hours.
